A Good Day to Die Hard (Diehard 5)

Bruce Willis as "John McClane" plays a much more unpredictable role to the previous. He is portrayed as an old man who has lost any care for his own life but still with his wits about situational awareness, as he trusts no one. When it comes to comedy, it relies on age jokes about the protagonist John as most possible avenues have already been covered this saga. The action in this film takes place in Russia, as McClane goes to see his son as he faces court. As his son escapes he finds out that he is not actually a criminal, but actually working for the American Government. Following this is the classic "Diehard", situation in which a large group of criminals stand in McClane's and he takes them down one by one, except with the help of his son this time. The action is a bit over the top as well as the stunts which appear unrealistic as they would have resulted broken bones. For the movie overall, enjoyable from an action perspective, a limited amount of humour but, similar to previous movies as it lacks originality and sadly no new catch phrase.
Stars:3/5
