THE SWEENEY
Based on the 1970’s British television police drama , recently released movie The Sweeney makes quite an entrance in the opening scene after bursting through a wall and putting a villain in a chokehold, Jack Reagan(Ray Winstone) delivers his big first line: "We're The Sweeney, s***- head, and you're nicked!" All 112 minutes of this film include heaps of violence some car chases and all folded into a mediocre story that goes along the basic theme of classic “cops n robbers”. The main focus is on the two protagonists Reagan (Winstone) and  George Carter (Ben Drew) who work in the legendary Flying Squad, a rough and tumble unit whose specialty is intercepting the most aggravated burglaries in the city - you know, holdups at banks, jewelry stores and clubs. The action is passable but the biggest letdown is that there are so many characters in this film but not all of them are equally fleshed out which puts viewers in a confused state. I wouldn’t recommend it as a must see but i can easily give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
